I have never been to a dentist in Tempe office and felt happy even though I hate going to the dentist but I love the people there! Dr. Amy is awesome! She really takes the time to get to know her patients especially those of us who are from NY! 😉 The staff is awesome as well especially Terry who always takes care of me and my family! 🙂 I recommend Dr. Amy to everyone in fact one of my coworkers now goes there and loves it too!

Frequently Asked Questions
Crowns restore a tooth that’s been damaged by decay, cracked, or weakened after a root canal. They also strengthen and protect the remaining structure, restore chewing function, and improve the tooth’s appearance, helping your smile stay both healthy and beautiful.
At our office, we offer a variety of crown materials, including all-ceramic (such as porcelain), zirconia, and porcelain-fused-to-metal. These options strike a balance between strength and aesthetic needs, depending on your tooth’s function and its location in the mouth.
For a lab-fabricated crowns on the front teeth, the process typically involves two visits. First, we prepare the tooth, take impressions or a digital scan, and place a temporary crown. On the second visit, we cement the permanent crown. We have a CAD/CAM milling machine and use modern technology to provide same-day crowns on back teeth, saving the patient a second visit.
Yes. Once placed, a crown is custom-shaped to match your other teeth. The feel and function will be very close to a natural tooth, allowing you to chew, bite, and smile with confidence — without the original damage or weakness.
Sensitivity can happen because the underlying tooth structure or dentin may be exposed during preparation. This sensitivity is usually temporary, subsiding within a few days to a few weeks as your tooth adjusts and the nerve calms down.
Depending on the material, yes. With digital scanning and CAD/CAM technology, we can design, mill, and place certain types of crowns in just one visit. Ask us which crown materials are eligible for same-day fabrication.
Maintain your crown by brushing twice daily, flossing at the crown’s margin, and avoiding very hard foods. Regular checkups at our office help us monitor the crown’s integrity, check for wear, and make any necessary adjustments.
With good care, crowns can last many years. The lifespan of a dental implant depends on the material (ceramic, zirconia, or metal), your oral hygiene, and the amount of wear and tear the tooth endures. Regular dental exams help maximize its longevity.
Yes, though it’s uncommon with proper material choice. Porcelain crowns are more prone to chipping, while zirconia and metal‑based crowns are very durable. If the crown does crack, our Tempe team can assess it and recommend repair or replacement.
No — the procedure is done under local anesthesia, so you shouldn’t feel pain during preparation or placement. Afterward, you may feel some mild sensitivity or soreness, but it usually resolves quickly with proper care and pain management.
